How can i pick a cosmetic surgeon?
rachel k asked:
If i don’t know anyone who has had cosmetic surgery then how the hell do i know which one to choose? The more you read on the internet the more confusing it is! They all have comments from past patients but how do i know they are real?

Maby you could buy coffee for some of their past patients, and it would be great if you could find some past patients to talk too without going thru the surgeon.
Most surgeons offer free consultations. Go see a bunch and decide who you feel most comfortable with. Most of them have before and after photos that they’ll show you when you come in.
Make sure they are board certified.
Make sure they have done the procedure OFTEN…
and know that if Dr X does 10000 of the same procedures, he/she will have x amount of complaints, because……..you can’t please all the people all the time….
you want to research a Plastic Surgeon not a Cosmetic one
go in there and ask to see their photos of the work
1. Even if friends/family/etc. haven’t had work done it doesn’t mean they don’t know people who have or names of good surgeons. Ask around, really word of mouth is the best way to find a good cosmetic surgeon.
2. Check forums/boards online for people who have had/are going to have cosmetic surgery. Make sure you ask about surgeons who do your specific procedure (just because a doctor does a fabulous boob job doesn’t mean he’d the best person to do a tummy tuck).
3. After you have a list of names make sure you check them out with necessary Medical boards/Better Business Bureau, etc. to see if they have any complaints against them.
4. Choose a handful of reputable surgeons from your list and meet with them. During this meeting you should get an overall vibe from them, ask to see examples of their work, and get the numbers of former patients that you can call for references.
